The frenzy of Black Friday may be behind us, but many people still have some major items left on their holiday shopping lists. If you’re one of them, you’re not alone. Research shows that one out of every three shoppers considers themselves to be last-minute buyers during the holiday season. Furthermore, the interest in topics such as “overnight shipping” and “next-day shipping” tend to soar in December. For the past three years, December 22 has seen the highest search interest in “overnight shipping”, and the number of searches for “last-minute gifts” surged by 800% last December compared to November.
With that in mind, here are a few ways you can leverage Google’s tools to master your last-minute holiday shopping.
1. Find products with fast delivery options
At this point in the holiday season, when time is running short and your list is still unfinished, it can be daunting to figure out where to begin. According to a survey, 20% of people find it challenging to locate a diverse range of gifts that will arrive on time during last-minute shopping. To address this, Google has introduced a new feature that enables you to search for products with expedited delivery.
Starting this week, when you’re browsing for gifts on Google Search via mobile or desktop in the U.S., you can use a filter to find products that guarantee delivery by December 24. By selecting the “Get it by Dec 24” filter on Search, or the “Get it fast” filter during other periods, you can view products with fast delivery, either because they’re available in stores near you or they are shipped promptly. Once you apply the filter, you’ll be presented with relevant products that are marked with the seller’s most economical on-time delivery option (along with the associated cost) and nearby stores where the items are in stock.
