A new application called Vids is introduced by Google Workspace, with a user-friendly interface that facilitates collaboration and secure project sharing directly from your web browser. This innovative app is designed to assist individuals in crafting compelling stories in the workplace.
Vids is set to be launched in Workspace Labs in June.
2. Enhanced Translation Capabilities in Meet
Google Workspace users can now activate translated captions during video conferences in Meet and specify their desired language, making global communication effortless. The upcoming “Translate for me in Meet” feature, set to debut in June, will automatically identify and translate captions into the user’s chosen language. This update will support 52 additional languages, bringing the total count to 69 supported languages.
Additionally, various new Meet and Chat functionalities, such as “Take notes for me,” will be accessible through a new AI Meetings and Messaging add-on priced at $10 per user per month. This add-on can complement specific Workspace plans.
3. Advanced File Security Measures with AI Security Add-on
Introducing the AI Security add-on, currently available for deployment, empowering IT teams to automatically detect, categorize, and safeguard sensitive files across the organization’s Google Drive. By leveraging privacy-centric AI models that can be customized with organization-specific data, this add-on ensures continual monitoring, classification, and protection of both existing and new files within Drive. The AI Security feature can now be incorporated into select Workspace plans for $10 per user per month.
4. Enhanced Organization Tools in Sheets and Docs
Sheets now boasts a new tables feature that optimally formats and organizes data with a refreshed and sleek appearance. Users can choose from a variety of templates, including project management, event planning, and inventory management, from the new set of building blocks. This functionality will be accessible to all Workspace plans in the upcoming weeks.
