Our favorite choice

This mirror offers a perfect combination of functionality and aesthetics, providing both regular reflection and a magnifying attachment. However, it is relatively expensive and does not come with a wall charger—only a cable is provided.
The Fancii Vera + Lara lighted makeup mirror features a stylish design with elevated elements that make it an excellent practical tool and a visually appealing item. The mirror is highly adaptable, offering three dimmable light temperatures and a choice of two views: The primary oval-shaped Vera mirror provides a standard 1x reflection, and the small, magnetically attaching Lara offers 10x magnification.
The charging port at the back emits a subtle glow to indicate the mirror’s power level, enabling it to be kept charging in a bedroom without disrupting sleep. It comes with only a charging cable, but it is compatible with most USB-A wall chargers. Furthermore, its curvy metallic base, available in three color finishes, adds an elegant touch to any dresser.
However, it requires some assembly and comes at a high price. (We discovered that finding a mirror under $100 that combines good looks, performance, and build quality is rare to non-existent.)
Economical option

This mirror offers most of the same features as our other selections: multiple light settings, magnification, and decent battery life. However, its design lacks finesse, and its materials feel inexpensive.
The affordable 8-inch Amztolife Lighted Makeup Mirror has all the necessary features you would want in a budget makeup mirror, including lighting, magnification, and adjustability. Its light (in three temperature tones) is bright and easy to use, with a single touch button for control.
The mirror swivels a full 360 degrees, allowing you to adjust it to most angles, with one side at the standard 1x magnification and the other at 10x magnification.
However, the mirror’s charging cable protrudes awkwardly from the side of the mirror surface, and the port does not accept typical USB cables. If you misplace the DC charging cable that comes with the mirror, finding a replacement may be challenging. Some reviewers have also expressed concerns about its durability.
Premium choice

This mirror illuminates when it senses your face, a touch panel allows easy brightness control, and it provides three different magnifications—it’s a marvel of engineering. However, it comes with a hefty price tag.
The Simplehuman Sensor Mirror Trio is the most luxurious mirror we tested, with a price tag to match.
One side of the mirror offers a 5x magnified view, while the reverse presents a standard view with a 10x insert at the bottom. The mirror automatically lights up when your face approaches it and dims when you move away—a cool feature that also helps the battery last for five weeks or more of regular use.
The light has two temperature options, bright daylight and warm candlelight, each with touch-adjustable brightness. The mirror’s metal body (available in three finishes) looks well-constructed, and its five-year warranty is the most generous of all our picks.
Also excellent

With a compact frame that folds easily, this close-up mirror is an excellent travel companion or a good fit in small spaces at home. However, it offers only 10x magnification and one light setting.
The Simplehuman Sensor Mirror Fold offers the same five-year warranty and motion-activated light as our premium pick but in a smaller, more travel-friendly body.
It comes with a carrying case for protecting the mirror surface and storing your charging cord on the go, and it charges via the very common Micro-USB standard.
However, the reflective surface, which measures just 5 inches in diameter, may be too small for everyday use by some people. Furthermore, it provides only a zoomed-in 10x view and a fixed brightness and temperature setting for its light.
