YouTube has announced that it is updating the design for creators’ channels on its TV app. The changes aim to provide a more modern and user-friendly layout, with improved action buttons and easier access to the “Subscribe” feature. These updates were first introduced for artists’ pages last fall.
Last year, YouTube rolled out similar changes for artist pages as part of a larger app makeover. This included integrated voice search, menu redesign, vertical video info menu, and larger thumbnails, among other improvements.
In a short video announcing the changes to creators’ pages, YouTube stated that the focus is on offering a more immersive layout design that “surfaces the most relevant content” and makes the Subscribe button more accessible. The update is being gradually rolled out to all creators and may take a few weeks to appear to all viewers. It’s important to note that these changes specifically impact channel pages on TV.
The updated page now allows users to play a mix of video content from the channel alongside the new Subscribe button. Creators are advised to prepare 16×9 full art for their channel banner as the new art is now displayed edge-to-edge.

This redesign follows YouTube CEO Neal Mohan’s recent post, which revealed that top creators who receive the majority of their watch time on TVs have experienced over 400% growth in the past three years. These changes are likely to be well-received by creators, as they can help increase their subscriber numbers and better showcase their content on the big screen.
YouTube faces competition not only from traditional TV and streaming services like Netflix but also from newer players like TikTok, which launched its own TV app in late 2021.
