Widening the Reach of our Top AI Models in Vertex AI
In the last half-year, we have introduced our most powerful models to date, including Gemini 1.5 Pro. Today, we are launching Gemini 1.5 Pro for public preview for our Cloud users and developers. With significantly improved performance, Gemini 1.5 Pro introduces a breakthrough in understanding long contexts. This advancement allows the model to consistently process 1 million pieces of information, unlocking new opportunities for businesses to innovate, explore, and create using AI.
When combined with Gemini’s multimodal abilities (which can handle audio, video, text, code, and more), the long context feature enables businesses to achieve tasks that were previously impossible with AI. For instance, a gaming company could conduct a video analysis of a player’s performance and provide improvement suggestions. Similarly, an insurance company could merge video, images, and text inputs to generate an incident report, simplifying the claims process.
We are also broadening access to a new iteration of our open model Gemma, tailored to assist customers with code generation and other code-related tasks.
These offerings are now accessible on Vertex AI, Google Cloud’s platform for customizing and seamlessly managing a variety of top-notch generative AI models. Presently, over 1 million developers are leveraging our generative AI through tools like AI Studio and Vertex AI. Furthermore, via Vertex AI, customers can now enhance and validate their models by linking model outcomes to reliable sources of information in two new ways. Firstly, through Google Search, which offers high-quality information to boost response accuracy. Secondly, by utilizing their own data and sources of truth, such as corporate applications like Workday or Salesforce, and Google Cloud databases like BigQuery.
