The starting price for the Talon is $3643 USD, and you are able to customize it with your choice of AMD or Intel processors for both desktop and workstation setups. The cost includes what could be considered one of the best quality mid-tower cases globally, with a custom design that alone holds significant value, and every component in the case is of the highest caliber. Falcon Northwest may not be known for budget-friendly products, but if it fits your budget, unboxing one is a premium experience, showcasing how exceptional a gaming PC can be, inside and out. Even the packaging sets a new standard.
At this stage, the review may sound like an advertisement, so the enthusiasm will be curbed.
In conclusion, the Talon is an almost flawless system, and it definitely offers value for money – although it is significantly more expensive compared to a DIY build. If I were to nitpick anything, it would be that the 80mm intake fan at the back could hinder potential expansion, although I understand its purpose. It is optional, so if you plan to use additional PCI-E slots, it does not have to be an issue. Besides the GPU, most ATX systems have no PCI-E expansion cards. I am one of the few who still utilizes things like PCIe sound and video capture cards, but external solutions dominate the market.
If I were to purchase a prebuilt system right now, it would be the Talon. I was a fan of the FragBox, and I have a strong affinity for Falcon Northwest as a company based on my experiences with both the staff and the hardware. The only way I’d consider deviating from the Talon would be if they reintroduced the Mach V. Hopefully in beige.
