Art Selfie, the popular Google Arts & Culture feature that was first launched in 2018, is making a comeback. This time, with the use of generative AI, Art Selfie 2 allows users to interact with art, history, and culture in a whole new way by placing them at the center of the experience.
Originally developed as a prototype in the Artists in Residence program, this feature enables users to take a selfie, either alone or with friends, and select a style. Generative AI is then used to create a customized image around the user’s face, seamlessly integrating their selfie into the chosen scenario. Users can see themselves as an explorer conquering Everest, depicted as a muse in Monet’s garden, or adorned in armor as a courageous medieval knight. With over 25 different styles available and more to be added in the future, Art Selfie 2 offers a means for users to embark on a journey of creative exploration and learning.
