CD Projekt Red has just announced significant plans for Cyberpunk 2077, including a major update and the development of new DLC content.
In a recent press release, CD Projekt Red revealed that a major update is in the works for all platforms, alongside a next-generation version of the game.
The next-gen release will include versions for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S, which were initially slated for an earlier release but were delayed to ensure the game meets expectations.
Anticipated to arrive in 2022, the next-gen versions are expected to bring enhanced performance and features to the game.
Following its troubled launch in 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 is set to receive another substantial update between March and May of the coming year, aimed at addressing remaining issues and enhancing the overall gameplay experience.
The press release also hinted at an expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, although details about this upcoming content remain scarce at this time.
Notably, significant DLC expansions and free DLC packs are also underway, but their release is likely to be pushed back to 2022 as the company focuses on resolving existing issues and implementing improvements.
With a commitment to addressing updates and fixes first, the rollout of additional DLC expansions is expected to occur later in 2022, following the release of planned patches.
Aside from Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red has confirmed its work on a next-generation version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which is slated for release alongside the updated version of Cyberpunk 2077.
