In the world of Japanese smartphones, the ZTE Libero Flip stands out as a budget-friendly foldable phone that is unlikely to be available outside of Japan. The device is a strong competitor to the Galaxy Z Flip5 and has a key advantage – it comes at a fraction of the cost. With a list price of JPY 63,000 ($420 converted), pre-orders for the ZTE Libero Flip are available at a discounted price of JPY 39,800 ($265), making it the most affordable foldable phone on the market so far.

The ZTE Libero Flip features a 6.9-inch foldable OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a secondary 1.43-inch round cover screen with 466 x 466px resolution. The secondary screen, called Sub Display, allows for tasks such as taking calls, controlling media playback, and acting as a viewfinder for the main camera on the back.
