Transport for London (TfL) boasts a diverse history that spans over 160 years, extending beyond London and the UK, featuring globally renowned symbols like the iconic red buses, black cabs, Tube maps, and the famous roundel. Through a close partnership with Google Arts & Culture over three years, TfL proudly presents its archives, histories, and narratives to a global audience in this new exhibition.
Bound by a shared commitment to conserving culture and art, we aimed to engage users in the realm of transportation through a fresh, user-friendly approach. By digitizing over 2,000 documents and images from our Corporate Archive collections, which include numerous historic maps, this online exhibition sheds light on our past, ongoing endeavors, cultural impact, and chronicles the tales and pivotal moments that have shaped TfL into the organization it is today.
