Visitors can now admire more than 200 remarkable historical documents from the National Library’s collections, delve into four digital stories, and immerse themselves in a creative Czech National Library puzzle party. The virtual tour on Google Arts & Culture also offers a glimpse into significant historical manuscripts that are typically inaccessible to the public, including treasures like the Vyšehrad Codex and digitized works such as Caspar Pflieger’s Star Globe and Sebastian Münster’s Map of the New World.
This collaboration with Google is a continuation of our history, with almost 200,000 old prints digitized by Google in previous initiatives. Working with Google Arts & Culture allows us to revitalize the Library’s collections and share them with a global audience through a visually stunning virtual experience.
Unveiling the Enchantment of the Baroque Library
The Baroque Library at the Clementinum is a remarkable space that reflects the enduring legacy of Jesuit culture. Housing nearly eight million volumes, some of which are national cultural treasures or part of the UNESCO Memory of the World programme, the library is a testament to our world’s cultural heritage.

This partnership not only allows people to discover captivating narratives and exhibitions but also encourages them to delve deeper into the historical books that hold the secrets and stories of the Clementinum.
The treasures of the National Library, as showcased on Google Arts & Culture, can be explored on the website or via the app (iOS/Android), available in English and Czech languages.
