Galaxy S24 Series' Early Benchmarks Show Exynos 2400 Matches Snapdragon
SHARE

Following the launch of the Galaxy S24 series, early benchmark tests have been conducted. A detailed video by YouTuber NL Tech showcases all three Galaxy S24 series phones being put to the test in popular benchmarking apps – Geekbench 6, AnTuTu, and 3DMark. The S24 and S24+ models come with the Exynos 2400 chip, while the S24 Ultra is equipped with a slightly overclocked “for Galaxy” version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

It’s important to note that all three phones are running pre-release firmware, so their scores might differ from the consumer-ready versions. However, we still get a good understanding of the capabilities of the new Samsung chipset and how it compares to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

In Geekbench 6’s CPU test, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 shows a slight lead in both single-core and multi-core scores. The difference in the single-core department is minimal, while the multi-core score demonstrates a slight advantage for the Qualcomm chip. However, the Exynos 2400 performs better during the GPU test, with both the S24 and S24+ outperforming the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-equipped S24 Ultra.

The AnTuTu tests show a win for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the S24 Ultra, but the difference between the two chips is relatively small.

Next up is the 3D Mark Solar Bay stress test which includes ray tracing. The Exynos-powered S24 and S24+ models, powered by their AMD RDNA 3-based Xclipse 940 GPU, outperform the S24 Ultra that comes with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The Samsung-made chip showed slightly better performance in thermal management.

The S24 Ultra marginally outperforms on the Wild Life Extreme test, even though the Exynos devices demonstrated better test stability.

Once the new series is available, a comprehensive set of tests will be performed, so stay tuned for more updates!
