Recall your favorite teachers who made learning easy and teaching effortless. However, teachers put in hours of work to create engaging lesson plans, assessments, and materials.
AI can support teachers in these tasks. In partnership with MIT RAISE (Responsible AI for Social Empowerment and Education), Grow with Google is launching a free Generative AI for Educators course. This aims to equip teachers with essential AI skills, as part of their joint effort to promote practical and responsible AI education.
In just two hours of self-paced learning, teachers can discover how to use generative AI tools for:
- Create engaging lesson plans and materials by tailoring content to student interests, such as using sports analogies to explain science concepts.
- Customize instruction for various student abilities by adapting lessons for different reading levels within the class.
- Streamline everyday tasks like composing emails and correspondence. For example, teachers can create summaries of lessons for absent students to help them stay on track.
Upon completion, teachers will receive a certificate that can be submitted to their district for professional development (PD) credit, subject to district and state guidelines.
Various school districts nationwide, including Albuquerque Public Schools, Anaheim Union High School District, Chicago Public Schools, Miami-Dade County Public Schools, and Sun Prairie Area School District in Wisconsin, will provide the Generative AI for Educators course.
