Google has unveiled several new features for Google Play game listings, such as AI-generated FAQs, showcasing recent YouTube videos, new immersive ad formats, and native PC game publishing support. These announcements were made during the Google Games Developer Summit held in San Francisco.
As part of the update, the company is rolling out new tools related to Play Store listings to attract more users. Developers can now promote their games and feature the latest YouTube videos directly within their listings, visible to users in the Games tab of the Play Store.
Google is also introducing AI-powered FAQs on the game information page in English. These features are currently being gradually rolled out to a select group of developers. The company had previously been testing AI-generated FAQ responses on the Play Store for non-game apps.

Play Pass and Play Points
To drive more in-app purchases, Google is now allowing developers to offer discounts to users with a Play Pass subscription. Additionally, the company plans to launch the subscription service in Korea later this year.

Additionally, game developers can now utilize Play Points, the Play Store’s rewards program introduced in 2019, for exclusive in-app offers. The Play Points program is expanding to Brazil this year, with over 220 million members across 35 markets.
New advertising products
Despite its main revenue source being ads, Google continues to introduce new ad options for game developers. One of the significant announcements is the introduction of immersive in-game ads that seamlessly blend into the game environment across different genres. This new ad format is available through Google’s AdMob platform, offering placement points during intermissions and level progressions.

Google is also providing tools to help developers drive purchases. Developers can now see who uninstalled their app through a default uninstaller list. They can also target specific groups such as inactive payers, first-time purchasers, or users who haven’t received push notifications in the last seven days.
Support for PC games
Over the past few years, Google has expanded its Play Games for PC program to over 120 countries, initially enabling users to play Android games on their computers. Now, the company is allowing publishers to feature native PC games on the Play Store. Notable titles like “Lineage2M,” “Odin: Valhalla Rising,” “Genshin Impact,” and “Dragonheir: Silent Gods” are already available, with “Solo Leveling: Arise” slated for launch later this year.
