Reports suggest that Xiaomi is preparing to launch its 14 Ultra flagship, featuring a new camera setup within a familiar design. Another leakster has indicated that the phone with a bright f/1.63 aperture is likely to be unveiled at the end of February.
This timeline coincides with MWC 2024 in Barcelona, where the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, as well as the international launch of the 14 and 14 Pro, could be revealed. The company has already confirmed its participation in the conference, where it will showcase its new home devices. Additionally, there are expectations to see the unveiling of the Xiaomi SU7 electric vehicle.
Rumors of a variable aperture on the 14 Ultra have been circulating for some time. It is said to feature a two-stop lens that can toggle between f/1.6 and f/4.0, similar to the 14 and 14 Pro with their f/1.4-4.0 solution. The phone is reportedly equipped with an LYT-900 sensor, which is a 1”-type platform developed by Sony.
Xiaomi has also certified a camera kit for the 14 Ultra, similar to its predecessor. However, this version may also double up as an external battery, significantly extending the phone’s battery life. All the details are expected to be confirmed with the official announcement next month.
