Huawei has revealed the rollout of a new Harmony OS beta trial program in China. Users from the community have the opportunity to join the program and experience the new features, which aim to provide easier navigation, enhanced security features across the interface, and more responsive functions.
The beta version is restricted to only 2,000 participants— 200 will receive a logged version, while the remaining 1,800 will receive a non-logged version and are required to manually report any encountered bugs.
Moreover, switching to the new build implies no option to revert to the stable version, and there is a clear prerequisite—only users located in China are eligible. Individuals using EMUI-branded OS from other regions are unable to take part in the program.
Below is the complete list of smartphones and tablets eligible for the trial version:
Huawei is also seeking participants to test Harmony OS on televisions, including four models from the V series and six models from the SE lineup.
Users with devices purchased in China must ensure they have at least 8 GB of storage and are running the latest Harmony OS version. Those interested in joining the trial can do so via the My Huawei app, where an Upgrade option will be accessible in the Home tab.
Huawei will be accepting applications and selecting the 2,000 participants before March 30.
