iPhone SE 4: Redesigned Look, Upgraded Features, Goodbye Touch ID

We’ve been following iPhone SE 4 rumors for the past four years, and it appears that Apple could potentially eliminate Touch ID in the latest iteration of its budget-friendly iPhone, based on recent CAD renders. However, the release date might not be until 2024. The latest speculations hint at a larger display with a notch and a single camera, providing a much-needed redesign for this device.

We now have fresh details indicating that the new iPhone SE will outshine its predecessors, as the alleged fourth-generation model is rumored to feature a 6.1-inch all-screen design with a notch possibly housing Apple’s TrueDepth technology for Face ID. This redesign will also introduce a flat design and a switch to a USB-C port from Apple’s Lightning technology. These improvements are welcomed, considering the existing iPhone SE still retains curved edges, a 4.7-inch display, a Home Button with Touch ID, and substantial bezels.

Other Enhancements that Enhance Appeal

The upcoming iPhone SE 4 is expected to closely resemble the iPhone 14 in size, measuring approximately 147mm tall, 71.5mm wide, and 7.7mm thick. Apple may also incorporate an OLED display in this version. Unfortunately, the camera setup doesn’t seem too thrilling as it maintains a single lens at the back. Yet, rumors suggest the possibility of including the same 48MP sensor found in the iPhone 15.
