Ubisoft has announced a significant new downloadable content event for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, taking the series deeper into Norse mythology and once again embracing the power of Odin.
The extensive Dawn of Ragnarok DLC release is slated for March 10 as part of Ubisoft’s ambitious Year Two plans for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The plans also include a crossover event with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
The main attraction is the Dawn of Ragnarok DLC, where players will embody the iconic God of War, Odin, with divine powers abound. However, it is a separate purchase for owners of the main game.
To access the DLC, players will need to reach settlement level 4 and unlock Valka’s hut. It is recommended to be a Level 340 player to handle the difficulty level. The DLC can be pre-purchased starting today.
According to a post on the Xbox Wire blog, “Dawn of Ragnarok sees Eivor step into the role of Odin once again and travel to the dwarven realm of Svartalfheim, where the immortal fire giant, Surtr, has kidnapped Odin’s son Baldr.”
The PlayStation blog announcement elaborates that the update will heavily delve into the Asgard fantasy and offer 35 hours of new gameplay across an area about a third the size of England.
While waiting for March 10, Assassin’s Creed fans can enjoy the crossover event for Valhalla and Odyssey players, known as A Fated Encounter. This story requires ownership of both games and will see Kassandra travel to England to meet Eivor.
