OnePlus 12 First Impressions: Pretty much a complete flagship
When picking up the device for the first time, you’ll notice it has a solid feel, which may be a noticeable change for those transitioning from a smaller phone. Using a case may add to the heft, but it could also make the device easier to hold.
Upon powering on the device, it becomes evident why users who prefer larger phones would appreciate the OnePlus 12. We’ll further delve into the display, battery, and camera aspects in our comprehensive OnePlus 12 review.
OnePlus 12 Display
The device boasts a 6.82-inch QHD+ curved AMOLED display with a peak 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The display meets flagship expectations, although the default resolution mode and refresh rate set to Auto-select may raise questions.
While the Auto-select setting aims to optimize battery performance, the 5,400 mAh battery capacity has proven impressive, with exceptional standby times.
The display claims to peak at 4,500 nits of brightness, delivering 1,600 nits in high brightness mode outdoors and 600-800 nits through the manual brightness slider. Despite the manual levels being somewhat disappointing, overall brightness performance is satisfactory.
OnePlus 12 Battery
The 5,400 mAh capacity has proven to offer exceptional battery life, with minimal overnight discharge, highlighting the device’s strong network module and antenna reception. Additional usage statistics will be captured to provide a better idea of what to anticipate.
Additionally, the charging performance has stood out, with the device achieving rapid charging times, closely aligning with the manufacturer’s claims.
OnePlus 12 Camera
The OnePlus 12’s camera setup includes a 50MP wide camera with OIS, a 64MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom, a 48MP ultrawide, and a 32MP front shooter. At an $800 price point, the OnePlus 12 incorporates impressive hardware, positioning itself as a compelling choice in the sub-$1000 price range for those interested in an outright purchase.
