As a snowboard instructor, spending long hours in snowboard boots is inevitable. Over my 4-year tenure, I’ve come to understand the significance of a comfortable snowboard boot for enduring long days on the mountain. Comfort is crucial as it greatly impacts my snowboarding experience.
In addition to comfort, a good snowboard boot needs to provide warmth regardless of the weather conditions, allowing me to focus on snowboarding without concerns about frozen feet. Furthermore, it should deliver top-notch performance when tackling challenging terrain, expanding riding capabilities, and providing essential support to my connection with the snowboard.
Having tested the Nitro Chase BOA Boots from the late part of the previous season to the present, I can confirm that this medium-stiff boot offers exceptional comfort.
In summary: The Nitro Chase BOA Boots ($500) fulfill my three primary requirements for quality snowboard boots and excel in all aspects. This boot is extraordinarily comfortable due to its dual BOA lace system, allowing a perfect, snug fit. It provides sufficient warmth even on colder days, and demonstrates superior performance on and off the snowboard. Although it may lack in durability, it compensates in other aspects.

Nitro Chase Dual BOA Snowboard Boots Review

I first tried on the Chase BOA Boots in February 2023 during the annual GearJunkie Ski and Snowboard testing week at Crested Butte Mountain Resort, Colo. Immediately, I noticed the ease of fitting the liner and the securing capability of the Cloud 9 liner and re/lace liner locker. The dual BOA system allowed me to achieve the perfect tightness, providing uniform pressure across my shin, ankle, and foot. It offered customizable tightness for comfort without compromising performance.
The Advantages of Dual BOA System
The dual zone BOA fit system is a distinct feature of these boots, setting them apart from traditional lace boots. Its functionality allows for tailored foothold, rapid lacing, firm grip, and enhanced adjustability, contributing to exceptional comfort.

Critique: Exterior Durability
Despite its durability issues with the outer fabric and showing signs of wear, these boots offer an incredibly comfortable design, making them ideal for snowboarding. Although they come with a high price tag, they provide the performance required for an enjoyable snowboarding experience.
