Podcastle, an advanced podcasting platform leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) features, has raised $13.5 million in a Series A funding round led by Mosaic Ventures.
Additionally, existing Podcastle investors RTP Global, Point Nine Capital, Sierra Ventures, and Andrew Ng’s AI Fundparticipated, alongside Squarespace CEO Anthony Casalena and Moonbug Media CEO René Rechtman.
The platform reports a user base of about a million creators using its AI-enhanced tools, although this figure has not been independently verified.
Simon Levene, co-founder and partner of Mosaic Ventures, praised Podcastle’s product, stating, “Arto and the team at Podcastle have built a leading product, and are already showing signs of organic growth that we believe will only accelerate in the years ahead.”
According to Arto Yeritsyan, founder and CEO of Podcastle, the funding will be used to scale the platform’s multiplayer experience, following a significant 10x growth last year that resulted from the release of podcasts for teams.
Podcastle offers various generative AI features, including Revoice (a voice cloning tool), Magic Dust AI (for improved audio quality), Podcastle Hosting Hub, and Podcastle for Teams.
The platform’s focus is primarily on long-form content creation for both audio and video. Its differentiation from competitors lies in its offering of real-time collaboration and AI functionalities.
Yeritsyan compares Podcastle to its competitors, stating, “We compete with Riverside on the recording side and Descript on the editing side. Our offering is a one-stop shop with real-time collaboration on the web, similar to the collaborative approach of Figma in comparison to Sketch.”
In addition to its collaborative features and online editing, Podcastle offers pseudo-quality audio generation and tools for video podcasting. It also focuses on marketing by enabling the creation and distribution of short-form content across social platforms using AI automation.
Yeritsyan also acknowledges the growing presence of Armenia as a tech hub, with big companies like Adobe and Nvidia establishing offices in the country to tap into its programming talent, particularly in AI.
Podcastle’s recent hires include Allan Rechtman, former VP at Canva, as its chief commercial officer; Damian Sacco as VP of Growth (formerly Prezi); and Dmitry Kopylovsky has been promoted to chief marketing officer.
