While BOA dials have been in use for many years, ski brands are now integrating them into alpine boots. Several skiers, including my colleagues with larger feet, have tested boots with BOA. I decided to try them with my slim feet. I chose to test Salomon’s newest women’s ski boots with BOA, the S/Pro Supra 105.
The S/Pro Supra by Salomon is designed for low volume and offers a narrow last with a stiff flex. I was intrigued by the promise of a snug fit for better control. Previous experiences with low-volume and stiff boots had been mixed. In the S/Pro Supra, Salomon seemed to have found a balance.
In summary: After skiing with the Salomon S/Pro Supra BOA boots for over four months across various terrains, I found them to excel in fit, comfort, and precision. These boots offer both comfort and stiffness, making them a reliable choice for resort skiing. I believe that the trend of alpine ski boots with BOA dials is worth embracing due to their superior comfort, fit, and control compared to traditional buckles.

Assessment of the Salomon S/Pro Supra BOA Ski Boots
Fit and Comfort
These boots are an excellent fit for narrow to medium feet, especially with the customizable liner. The fit felt exceptional, particularly for low-volume boots. Personal comfort and fit preferences depend on individual foot types. In my case, with extremely narrow feet, a low-volume fit is crucial for optimal boot control.
In the Salomon S/Pro boots, the BOA dial isn’t the sole contributor to the fit. The delicate shell walls and ExoWrapping component of the liner create a precise foot wrap, offering maximum comfort and adjustment for lower-volume feet.
I was impressed by how well the boots conformed to my feet, providing support and comfort in all the right places. The boots are highly adaptable and tailored to accommodate lower-volume feet.
After testing these boots, I’ve raised my expectations for comfortable ski boots and refuse to settle for anything less.
