This week’s unpacked event revealed Samsung’s newest flagships – the Galaxy S24 trio. You can read our hands-on review to learn about the new features and hardware upgrades. If you’re interested in the AI features, you can watch these videos.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra features a reimagined long telephoto lens with 5x magnification and a high-resolution 50MP sensor that delivers high-quality zoom between 5x and 10x. Additionally, it enables 8K video recording and 4K video at 120fps from the tele camera.

Then there’s the Samsung Galaxy S24+ priced €300 lower than the Ultra. This year, it features the same 12GB RAM and boasts a flat 6.7″ LTPO display with QHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, just like the Ultra. The battery capacity is also only 100mAh shy of the Ultra. This is the best S+ we’ve seen in years and, unless you care about the S Pen, the only real downside of choosing the Plus instead of the Ultra is that the cameras are essentially the same as on the S23+ and those already felt outdated.

You can opt for the smaller Galaxy S23, saving €350. It’s not tiny, but it is the smallest new phone that Samsung offers. However, it only has 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage (compared to 512GB on the S23+ and S23 Ultra) and the display is limited to FHD+ resolution. Also, charging is at 25W, not 45W like the two larger models.

It’s important to note that Samsung will provide 7 generations of OS updates and 7 years of security patches. Even if you don’t keep it for that long, you can still sell it or hand it off to a relative, and they will still receive up-to-date software. Additionally, the current storage capacities are doubled due to the pre-order bonus.
Amazon is offering official silicone and vegan leather cases for the Galaxy S24 trio, available in various colors.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is priced at €690, but comes with only 128GB of storage. It also features an FHD+ display (non-LTPO) and 25W battery charging for a 4,500mAh battery. However, it uses the old Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and will receive more limited software support (3 OS updates, one of which has already been released, plus 5 years of patches).

You might also want to consider the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. Currently, Amazon Germany has them paired with Google Pixel Buds Pro, with the bundles costing less than a Galaxy S24 and S24+ respectively.
