After a sneak peek at the Galaxy S24 Unpacked event, Samsung has officially unveiled its Galaxy Ring, providing more insight into this new wearable device. While pricing and availability details are yet to be disclosed, Samsung has shared a wealth of information about its first Galaxy smart ring.
The Galaxy Ring is designed to fit US ring sizes 5 to 13, with markings from S to XL on the inside. Unlike the convex Oura Ring, Samsung’s ring boasts a concave shape that narrows in the center. It will be available in three colors: ceramic black, platinum silver, and gold.
This smart ring monitors heart rate, breathing rate, sleep patterns, and nocturnal movements, with the added ability to detect early indications of sleep apnea. Samsung markets the Ring as a complement to the Galaxy Watch, providing enhanced 24/7 health and activity tracking capabilities.
Moreover, it calculates a Vitality score based on daily activities, sleep quality, resting heart rate, and heart rate variability. Users can customize wellness objectives and track progress through Booster Cards accessible in the Galaxy Health app.
Initially, the Samsung Galaxy Ring will only be compatible with Samsung Galaxy smartphones, with potential expansion to other Android devices in the future.
