Samsung has recently released an infographic outlining the advancements achieved with the innovative camera system on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, along with the cutting-edge ProVisual Engine driving its capabilities.
The improvements begin with the enhanced Nightography functionality on the telephoto end. The new 5x zoom camera on the S24 Ultra features a sensor twice the size and 60% larger pixels at 1.4μm compared to its predecessor, offering improved low-light performance. Additionally, it boasts a wider stabilization angle, resulting in superior Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). On the computational side, the new 5x camera’s AI-powered image signal processor (ISP) incorporates a 42% faster neural processing unit (NPU) and a 30% quicker shutter speed for enhanced performance.
Another notable feature is the new Generative Edit function, which harnesses the S24 Ultra’s formidable AI capabilities to apply techniques such as straightening, resizing, in-painting, and out-painting to photographs.
The inclusion of Expert RAW now introduces a 24MP mode that merges high-resolution 50MP images with multi-frame 12MP images. The AI Fusion 24MP shots offer HDR functionality and can be exported in JPEG-only, RAW-only, or both formats.
Lastly, the Enhance-X feature, Samsung’s AI-powered editing tool, introduces the Camera Shift capability. This feature allows users to adjust the angle and perspective of a photo post-capture using AI technology, providing options to create various artistic effects and emphasize specific subjects.
