Sony’s smartphone design has remained consistent over the years, and it seems this trend will continue with the upcoming Xperia 1 VI. Rumors suggest that while the design will stay the same, there will be two significant changes before its potential release in May.
Firstly, the Xperia 1 VI may no longer feature a 4K screen. Sony was the pioneer in introducing 4K displays in smartphones, but now it appears they are moving away from this technology. Other flagship devices have seen better sales without 4K screens, making it less compelling for Sony to persist with this feature.

Furthermore, the Xperia 1 VI is rumored to transition from its tall cinematic 21:9 aspect ratio to a more conventional 19.5:9 ratio. This change would make the phone slightly shorter and wider compared to its predecessor. It seems that this unique aspect ratio characteristic to Sony devices might be discontinued this year.
These potential changes make sense, but it’s important to note that these are just rumors. While we wait for confirmation, it’s worth mentioning that recently, the RAM specifications for the Xperia 1 VI, Xperia 5 VI, and Xperia 10 VI were also leaked.
Thanks for the information, Josip!
