Google has been heavily investing in AI to enhance its products and services. The company is thrilled about the advancements, including the Search Generative Experience (SGE) available through Search Labs. AI has also become a key component in Google’s Cloud and Workspace services, as well as the popular subscription service Google One, which is close to reaching 100 million subscribers.
A Leap Forward with Gemini
In December, Google introduced the Gemini era, marking a significant advancement in AI across various text, image, audio, and video benchmarks. Gemini is not just about the models; it encompasses an entire ecosystem, from everyday products used by billions to APIs and platforms that aid developers and businesses in innovation.
The Ultra 1.0 model is a remarkable achievement, surpassing human experts in massive multitask language understanding (MMLU), which covers 57 subjects, such as math, physics, history, law, medicine, and ethics, to assess knowledge and problem-solving skills.
Google is now integrating Ultra into its products and making it accessible globally.
Introducing Gemini Advanced
Previously known as Bard, the platform for experiencing Google’s most advanced models will now be named Gemini. Available in 40 languages on the web, it will also be launching as a dedicated Gemini app for Android and within the Google app for iOS.
The variant featuring Ultra will be called Gemini Advanced, offering enhanced capabilities in reasoning, following instructions, coding, and creative collaboration. It can serve as a personalized tutor tailored to individual learning styles or assist in content strategy planning and business plan development. Subscribing to the new Google One AI Premium plan grants access to Gemini Advanced, which is an extension of the popular Google One service, providing expanded storage and exclusive AI features.
