Samsung’s new partnership with Google Cloud means that Galaxy S24 users will have access to Gemini, Google’s most powerful AI model, through apps and services developed by Samsung.
Gemini Pro, Google’s top model for handling a wide range of tasks, will enhance the functionality of familiar Samsung apps in new and useful ways on the Galaxy S24 series. Samsung’s Notes, Voice Recorder, and Keyboard apps will utilize Gemini Pro to offer improved summarization features. For example, users can record a lecture using Voice Recorder and promptly receive a summary of the most important parts of the lesson. Furthermore, with Imagen 2, Google’s advanced text-to-image diffusion technology, users will have access to beneficial photo editing capabilities using Generative Edit within the Galaxy S24 Gallery app.
The Galaxy S24 series will come with built-in integration of Gemini Nano, the most efficient model for on-device tasks, to introduce a new feature in Google Messages and ensure that user data remains on the smartphone. Additionally, Samsung will be one of the first partners to test Gemini Ultra, Google’s largest model for highly complex tasks, before it becomes widely available to developers and enterprise customers later this year.
