The creators of the popular Middle-earth series have announced a new video game featuring the superhero Wonder Woman.
The new game, developed by Monolith Productions, was revealed at The Game Awards and is set in the DC Universe.
Similar to the Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War games, the Wonder Woman game will be a single-player open-world game. The game will also utilize the innovative Nemesis system, where enemies evolve based on the player’s interactions with them and the outcomes of previous battles.
According to Monolith, the game will “introduce an original story set in the DC Universe and allow players to assume the role of Diana of Themyscira as she seeks to unite her Amazon family and the modern world.”
While a teaser trailer was unveiled at The Game Awards, it is uncertain whether actress Gal Gadot will be lending her voice to the character.
The narrator in the trailer, Wonder Woman’s mother, states: “My daughter, a new threat comes to our shores, and I must call you home. Restore what has been broken. Unite old enemies. Forge new bonds. You are a hero, but you can be more. You can be a leader. You are Wonder Woman.”

It is exciting to see Wonder Woman featured in her own video game. Most previous DC games have focused on Batman (such as the Arkham series) and Superman. Both Superman and Wonder Woman are also set to appear in the 2022 title Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, developed by Rocksteady Studios.
