In April 2023, Xiaomi introduced the Pad 6 Pro in China, and now it’s time for the Pad 7 series. According to information from Digital Chat Station, the new flagship tablet is set to be unveiled next month, and it will come equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
The leak suggests that a Pad 7 with last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is on the way, while the Pro version is expected to feature the latest top-tier SoC from Qualcomm. This represents a significant improvement over the previous Pad 6 lineup, where the Pro and the Max were equipped with a year-old chip, and the vanilla version, reviewed last summer, had an outdated Snapdragon 870.
The Pad 7 is rumored to feature 100W fast charging, and the Pad 7 Pro may come with an OLED panel, marking the first time a Xiaomi tablet will be launched with this display technology, as all previous models have come with an LCD.
While these features sound promising, it would be even better if the company decides to release the Pro model outside of China, as all top-tier tablets have been limited to the domestic market so far.
