# XPG Vault mouse concept can store a whole PC games library
Picture being able to bring (alright, some) of your PC games library along in the form of the mouse you use to defeat online foes like a piece of cake?
Accessory maker XPG introduced a new gaming mouse with 1TB of storage on board in their CES 2022 announcement.
The XPG Vault mouse concept, which connects to a terminal of your choosing via a USB-C cable, features a built-in SSD that can house “your gaming library, in the palm of your hand.” The current prototype offers 1TB of storage (likely sufficient for several AAA games with all the extras) running at 985MB/s.
In a press release (via Engadget), there’s also mention of game launcher software that “promises to make your gaming libraries conveniently portable and a higher level of game integration with XPG Prime Software Ecosystem.”
There’s no news on whether the mouse will be produced and released, but it’s an appealing concept given the modern desire for portability. However, it will still require the gamer to connect to a PC capable of running those games at a good standard, but it could be an excellent option for those who love to play away from their command center.
Mice with storage have been available for a while, mainly to ensure gamers preferred macro settings are preserved for gaming sessions on different PCs without the need to reprogram. This concept takes things to another level, so it’ll be interesting to see whether the response at CES 2022 – scheduled to begin next week despite cancellations from major players like Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Intel, etc. – sees this concept become a reality in a short time.
